Generate Clashes Generates clashes and populates the screen with clash information.
Up to level 2-4 The number of course levels involved in the clash generation. Select from the drop-down.
Open Load Balancing Opens the Load Balancing screen.
Run Load Balancing Runs the load-balancing process. This automatically performs multiple passes through the data until all learners that can be allocated to course groups are allocated and passes no longer result in any adjustments. The process takes into account any load-balancing rules, and will lock successful allocations after each rule has been applied, if specified.
Apps/Enrols drop-down Whether the load-balancing process is run for Enrolments or Applications.
Lock Balanced Locks all successfully load-balanced allocations of learners to course groups so that they will not be affected by subsequent re-runs of the load-balancing process.
Reset Balancing Deletes all load balancing data for both locked and unlocked learners.
Regenerate Permutations

Regenerates the permutations for modified groups without affecting the other load-balanced groups.

Note: This is only enabled if you have made any changes to course groups or block periods since performing load balancing.

Refresh Apps/Enrols

Updates the data to include any new applications or enrolments.

Note: New learner records can be identified by sorting the Learners panel by permutations, as new records will not have any permutations.

Rules Displays the Manage Rules window, where you can add, edit or re-order the rules that are applied when the load-balancing process is run.
Generate Timetable Creates timetable events in the ebs database in accordance with the load-balanced and adjusted matrix and course groups.

  • Removes learners from the existing (UIO) groups for Block Matrix courses
  • Deletes existing course groups for Block Matrix courses
