Calendar Types
Use this reference data to describe the types of time frame in which the organisation works and in which a learner can study on a programme, course or unit. These may vary from the traditional academic year and term, through semesters or weeks or even individual days if required. They allow users to relate the running of programmes of study to particular actual times when the programmes of study are scheduled and offered. Calendar types can be grouped together into a coherent structure for the institution as a whole. For example: a calendar type of academic year may be made up of four terms, or two semesters.
When you have added the required calendar types for your institution, you can then manage the occurrences to associate with them by clicking the Occurrences button on the Admin Commands ribbon to display the Calendar Occurrences window.
Here you can search for the required occurrence using the condition builder at the top of the window, and then specify the code to be used, the descriptions and the exact start and end dates for the chosen occurrence.
