What are qualifications?

You add qualifications to your application so your institution can assess whether you meet the entry requirements for the course you’ve chosen. These qualifications include results you already have and any grades you’re expecting to achieve.

A course may require specific entry grades as follows:

  • A level grade A in biology and physics

  • GCSE grade 5 or above

For each qualification, you enter details such as the subject, qualification type, predicted grade, actual grade when you have it, and the year you achieved it. You can also remove a qualification if you added it by mistake. For example, you might remove a maths GCSE with a predicted grade of 4 and an actual grade of 5 achieved in 2025 as shown in the image Qualifications.

Predicted grades help your institution make early decisions about your application. When your real grades become available, you can update your application with the actual results. Your institution may also ask you to upload evidence, such as a certificate, to confirm your achievements.
