Use the NSI in ebs: central
The NSI related functionality in the Learner module is designed to allow ebs users to ensure that a learner has a valid NSN value and their details comply with the NSI before enrolment.
There are a number of NSI relevant fields in the Learner module.
These fields are described in the following table.

| Middle Names | The learner's legal middle names. |
| Surname | The learner's legal surname. |
| Name Verification | The method used to verify the learner’s legal name (for example: passport, birth certificate). |
| Gender | The learner's gender. |
| Residential Status | The residential status of the learner. |
| Residential Verification | The method used to verify the learner’s residential status (for example: passport, birth certificate). |
| Date of Birth | The learner's date of birth. |
| National Student No | The learner's NSN value. This can be verified or unverified. |
| NSI Status | The status of the NSI record. |
| Date Matched to NSI | The date the learner record was last matched to the NSI. If this is populated, the NSN value will be verified (read-only). |
| Alt Forenames | The learner’s alternative forename(s). |
| Alt Surname | The learner’s alternative surname. |
| Preferred Name | Whether the learner prefers to be called by their legal name or their alternative name. |
| Alt Name Verification | The method used to verify the learner's alternative name (for example: passport, birth certificate). |
| Date of Death | The date of the learner’s death. |
